  I know what you're thinking, what a masterpiece of site design and web technology. I'll admit I'm not an artist but I make websites. I don't like to rely on authoring tools so most of my sites are created using a simple text editor. All graphic creation/editing are done using GIMP, the open source graphics suite. I can use Photoshop, I just can't afford it.

  A personal friend of mine, Michael Blinn is one of Sudbury's premier wedding photographers. I designed and maintain this site.

• Next Step Home Transitions

  NextStep offers a variety of services to aid in realestate sales. I designed and coded this site to my customer's specifications.

• Sudbury Saltos Gymnastics Club

  The Saltos are our local YMCA's competitive gymnastics club. Once again, I created and deployed this site. I currently also provide hosting services for the Saltos.

Other Website Stuff

I have offered a variety of web related services over the years including those concerning security such as SSL certificate installation. A few years back I even offered hosting services so I am familiar with the whole process of website deployment. Although I retired my web-server to a golf course to track senior member scores (no joke), I continue to be involved in helping people with hosting solutions including domain registrations and email setup.

Tech Stuff

PC Hardware

• I owned and operated a part-time computer business for over 10 years through which I dealt with many different parts and vendors.
• I have built, repaired, and upgraded literally hundreds of computers over time.
• Even back in high-school before any formal training my skills where recognized and I was asked to refurbish old computers for use in computer labs of our elementary schools.

Wireless

• Have deployed commercial Wi-Fi products using multiple access points
• Have deployed Hot-Spot solutions (ie. hotels)
• Have performed site surveys and I am familiar with proper deployment techniques to ensure maxmimum reliability and coverage of network.
• I have tested wireless security and I am familiar with tools such as Aircrack/Airsnort.

Networking

• I have deployed many small networks used for use in home and small office.
• I am familiar with configuring SOHO router and firewall equipment as well as more elaborate and dedicated firewall solutions such as MonoWall, Pfsense, and Smoothwall.
• I have installed VPN solutions from different vendors such as Microsoft, OpenVPN, and SonicWall.
• I am concerned with security and try to be vigilant when protecting against techniques such as ARP spoofing, packet sniffing and man-in-the-middle attacks.

My Home Theatre

My home theatre setup is probably my favourite ongoing project. I currently use a MythTv based PC to watch and record HD cable over a firewire connection to my provider's set-top box. My goal is to be able to have access to my media and TV from anywhere and through one user interface. I've been asked about my setup and hope to have a step-by-step guide here soon.
